Taking a driver makes sense when nobody on site is trained on the machine, when the work is a short burst of digging or lifting, or when the site is tight enough that experience counts. Without one, the machine is delivered and we take you through the controls and safety checks before we leave. On a construction site the main contractor sets the rules for who may operate plant, and a training card for that type of machine can be required. On a farm or a private site, whoever drives needs to be confident working near people, buildings, drains and overhead lines. If you are unsure, describe the job and we will give you our view.

Euro Concrete's hire rates, excluding VAT, are €1,350 a week for the 21 m rotary loadall, €1,600 a week for the 25 m rotary, €750 a week for the 18 m straight loadall, and €140 and €180 a day for the 40 and 80 kVA generators. Every other machine is priced when you ring.

Delivery and collection come on top, depending on how far the machine travels to you and how easy the site is to reach, so give the address when you ask. Euro Concrete prices delivery on the distance from its base in Cork city or Skibbereen to your site and how easy the site is to get into, and quotes it with the hire. Every machine is delivered to site and collected at the end of the hire, so there is no trailer or towing for you to arrange.

A site near one of the two bases costs less to reach than one at the far edge of the county. Access comes next. Narrow lanes, soft ground at the gate, a steep drive or overhead cables change how the machine is brought in and unloaded, so tell us about them when you book, or send photos of the entrance. If the machine is going onto a farm or a building site with its own rules for deliveries, say so, and the drop is made where it can be unloaded safely. The Euro Concrete hire fleet is a Bobcat E35z mini digger, a Hitachi 210LC excavator, a Manitou MT 1840 loadall, two Manitou rotary loadalls, a Manitou 180 ATJ boom lift, three Skyjack scissor lifts, and four generators, the smallest 3.4 kVA and the largest 80 kVA. Each one is delivered to your site in County Cork.

The diggers cover everything from drains and footings on a tight house site to bulk excavation. The loadall places materials on scaffolds, roofs and upper floors, and the rotary loadalls do the same from a turret that turns, standing on outriggers. The boom lift reaches over obstacles to work at height outdoors, while the scissor lifts rise straight up for ceilings and fit-out indoors.
